Position Statements

PEG position statements represent our best, current understanding of effective policy that achieves a reasonable balance between the extremes of far-left and far-right politics. We present these statements recognizing that our policy recommendations and understanding of the underlying issues will undoubtedly change over time. Evolution of policy should be expected, and is in fact the only reasonable approach to effective government; an ongoing, civil dialogue about the challenges facing our nation should result in continuous learning, and the solutions that we implement to address those challenges should evolve accordingly.

We will continue to add position statements on additional policy topics as these are developed by our organization.

Each position statement below begins with a number of policy recommendations, followed by a section providing background and context which provides our rationale for these recommendations.
